Here is where I chronicle my poker adventures on my journey to becoming a competent poker player. Don't expect anything too serious, but wise words from a fool are no less wise.

What to do?
4 tables left in the $42k and the level is 4k/8k/1k and you are dealt 99 in the BB.
EP raises it to $18k. You have about $185k as does the EP raiser.
We really need more information on the tendencies of the EP raiser, as well as how you have been playing similar situations recently in this tournament (how much have you been stealing and restealing, etc.).
In general it sounds like a good spot to resteal against an aggro stealer, but then you have enough of a stack that I would probably try to be real careful before getting too involved with a very beatable and hard-to-be-ahead-postflop hand like 99.

I think you're both deep enough to set mine so I'd see the flop.
If it's a low flop what do you do? Depends on how villain has played previous hands from EP. Is he likely to 3 barrel with AK, etc.
I really was waffling on this one. I could fold, I could call, but I did not want to raise, get called and then play OOP.
And I thought a pair worth calling, so I did.
The flop was AQ5 and I check-folded.
more ROT....

You're still deep, easy fold for me.
