HJ with nearly 100BBs opens and you don't 3bet AQ from the button. Was he playing tight?

not so much tight as trying to be selective on his hands.

We played a few hands together at this point, and he was not playing ATC. I put him on a hand close to what he had. He is going to call the 3 bet for sure.

LATER, he will completely pwn me using this hand to establish himself tighter than he is. He will come in FTA with J8s and flop a straight.

I like the call and I probably play the AQ the same way.

I love when people use Limit terms like "three bet" in no limit contexts, people do it all the time but the ideas are different in limit vs no limit holdem. While I would definitely consider three-betting in Limit holdem with your hand in your spot, I think reraising (the proper term for "three bet" in a NL context) preflop with AQo is a losing proposition over time in no-limit play and I like your just calling there (or folding, personally).

Just a bad, bad flop for you, both in terms of him flopping the straight and you flopping the tptk. He deserves a painful suffering death for raising ("two-betting") with J8 and then flopping hard like that.

The donk shove in the first hand is pretty terrible.

I'd probably reraise in the 2nd one, but I don't have a big problem with your line. I would have raised more on the flop tho.
